Catbird Jewelry – A Simple and Elegant Jewelry Line For Everyone
I discovered Catbird while on a summer trip to my family’s house in Connecticut. My cousin’s wife had on a pretty delicate gold bracelet that caught my eye. When I inquired about it she told me that she and her sister had matching bracelets welded on (zapped!) at the Catbird store in New York City. From that point forward I was intrigued with the brand and now I want to share it with you.
About Catbird
The Catbird jewelry brand was founded in 2004, and all jewelry is made in-house at their studio in Brooklyn. They are a women-owned business that uses recycled gold and diamonds to reduce their carbon footprint. Catbird is also a member of the No Dirty Gold campaign that works to inform and hopefully encourage change in the gold mining industry.
Buying From Catbird
What I love about Catbird is that all of their jewelry is not only on trend but designed by artists, and made right in their Brooklyn, NY studio. You can even tour the facility on the first Friday of each month.
I received my first piece from Catbird for my birthday, a pretty 14k yellow gold bracelet. I wore it non-stop until I broke it accidentally while playing with my dog.
When I looked into options for repair, I was thrilled to learn they have a two year warranty policy on their jewlery. I sent my bracelet back and it was returned to me promptly – like new and ready to wear.
Getting Zapped
If you are ever in New York City and love this style of jewelry, you must plan a trip to the Catbird store! They have a welding annex in Soho where you can get a “Forever Bracelet” zapped onto your wrist.
What is zapped you ask? Well its quite simply a delicate bracelet welded together onto your wrist. Last summer, my mom, aunt, and my two daughters all got zapped with a “Forever Bracelet”.
